Failover protection allows users to re-route failed deployments to a backup Card Pool. For example, if Card Pool A fails to deploy, the deployment request is routed to Card Pool B.
You can configure:
-
Failover route—the backup Card Pool that the deployment is made from.
-
Failover notification—the recipient(s) of the email notification of the failover protection being triggered.
Note
Failover protection is not compatible with Card Pools that have approvals configured.
If you have failover enabled, you can configure it in the administration module. The failover protection page in the Administration module allows you to configure failover and view details of deployments where failover has been triggered.
-
Select the Card Pool via Card Pool search that you want to re-route failed deployments from.
-
From the left-hand menu, click Failover protection.
-
Click Configure.
-
Choose the failover route. This is the Card Pool you want to re-route failed deployments to.
-
Click Save.
-
You will see a message asking you to confirm that you wish to configure failover protection. Click Confirm to continue. To cancel the configuration, click Cancel.
-
You will see that failover protection is now configured with a status of protected.
-
To configure failover notification, add the recipient email addresses in the text box, and click Add. You can add multiple email addresses in this manner.
The failover deployments section contains details of deployments where failover protection was triggered. You can view:
-
Initial deployment ID—the initial (failed) deployment.
-
Card Pool name—the Card Pool that the initial deployment was created from.
-
Failover deployment ID—the failover deployment that replaced the initial deployment.
-
Failover Card Pool name—the Card Pool that the failover deployment was created from.
-
Created date—the date and time the failover deployment was created.
If you want to delete a failover protection configuration, click Delete. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete the failover protection. Click Confirm to delete, or click Cancel to keep the failover protection.
You can also remove failover notification email addresses by clicking the remove link next to the email address.
Note
Failover protection will only be visible if it is enabled on your Card Pools. If you require this to be enabled, contact the Conferma support team.
